The VPS (Volare Products) 10:1 Winder; a 3D-Printed basic winder. While we have tested these to over 15 in-ounces without damage, we recommend you use these on motors less than 2 loops of 3/16" (or 3 loops of 1/8"). These would be great for Science Olympiad students (or anyone else) with the easy-to-count-and-multiply 10:1 ratio.

We have assembled several pre-production winders and the assembly takes just a little over an hour. Most of that time is simple cleanup of the 3D printed parts and verifying all is fitting together properly as you go.
By the way, there are only two metal parts - the 1/16" music wire output hook and the 4-40 cap screw holding the knob to the crank arm.
These printed in Volare Orange ABS plastic with embedded white lettering. Then they are hand-assembled, lubricated, and tested here in Michigan.
