This PEANUT (13" span) model is a new keel-and-half-shell design, drawn and built in the spring of 2025. The full scale version qualified for Formula 1 races in Florida in 1969, but was not permitted to compete. My PEANUT was built as a hopeful redemption for my miscalculation the previous year which produced the 15" version.
This is a PEANUT High Wing built using all 1/20" wood. Use light wood to keep the model light. My prototype came out at 12 grams, but could have been a gram or two lighter (heavy prop and nose button). Parts for built-up balsa wheels and wheel pants are included.
PLEASE NOTE: this model DOES qualify for the FAC Goodyear Races! My Peanut prototype had four official flights: an 85 second flight in Peanut Scale and 3 rounds in the 2025 FAC non-Nats Goodyear Race mass launch. The final round was the model's first full-power flight. It won the event in a fly-away.
This short kit contains: 3 pieces of laser-cut balsa, a plan and a 3D-printed tail wheel.
ALL VOLARE KITS ARE MADE IN SMALL BATCHES. IF STOCK-ON-HAND IS ZERO, A NEW BATCH WILL BE PRODUCED SOON. SIMPLY ORDER ANYWAY AND WE WILL MAKE THEM.
